What I’ve been up to…

I have been super busy that last week or so and have hardly had any time to scrapbook. I did however, do lots of crafting!! I hosted a very good friend of mine’s baby shower at my house on Sunday. It was lots of work, but definitely well worth it. Here are some pictures the decorations/favor/cards that I made for the party.

The welcome banner at the front door.
Large banner. Please ignore my empty shelves, it is a work in progress.
One of the Baby banners above the windows.
Another Baby banner over the fireplace.
The favor boxes were filled with Sour Soothers.
I made onesie thank-you cards as a gift for the Mommy to Be.
The comfiest chair for the Mommy to Be.
One of the games we played.
The Mommy to Be & Me. The matching shirts were a total fluke.
The planning committee & the Mommy to Be.

I wouldn’t have been able to get all done without my partner in crime/slave labor Michelle. Thanks again for all of the help!!

Now that the shower is over I should have lots of time to scrapbook, but first I have to clean my craft room, which after last weekend is a disaster zone!! Wish me luck…

Have a gooder!!

Catching Up

I am really looking forward to this weekend, I have two scrapbooking dates! Tonight I am going to a late night crop and on Sunday a couple girlfriends and I are getting together to scrapbook. I have a feeling it is going to be a great weekend!

Here are a couple more layouts that I did last fall, but never got around to posting. Hopefully after this weekend I will have lots of new pages to show!

Giving it Another Shot…

After a long hiatus I have finally decided to resurrect my blog and this time I am determined to keep it updated. The last couple of months I have really missed scrapbooking’s on-line community. I miss the message boards, the on-line galleries & the blogs. I really need some inspiration to kick start my creativity and I think that this is the best way to do it.

And, since a post with out pictures is boring here are some layouts that I did last fall that I never got around to posting.

Have a gooder,

Done Like Disney

Finally, after only a year and half, I have finished my Disney album! It feels so good to have it all done. It is by far the largest album I have ever completed. I am not going to lie, I gave myself a big pat on the back after I slid the last page into its protector. Now it’s time to catch up on all my other pictures, oh and don’t even mention my wedding album ;)

Here are the last pages in my Disney album:

Two Years Ago Today...

...I married my best friend!!

I can't believe that it has already been two years. Some days it feels like yesterday, while others I can't remember what it was like before we were husband and wife.

To celebrate our anniversary and help make our third year of marriage the best yet, I have come up with a little project. Everyday, whether we are together or not, I will tell my husband one thing I love about him. It may seem trivial, but sometimes I take advantage of what I have. Sometimes I dwell on the negative instead of focusing on positive. Sometimes I do not realize what a great thing I have. I love him very much, I just forget to show him that sometimes. So, whether it be in a note, in a text or in a heartfelt conversation I will make a point to tell him one thing, big or little, that I love about him. Of course, I will keep track of everything and on our next anniversary I will put everything into a mini album. I will keep you posted on my progress!

I know I have been the worst blogger EVER, but I hope to change that in the coming weeks. I have lots of great ideas, I just need to execute them. I do have lots of new pages to share, I will scan/photograph them this week.

Have a gooder!!

AMR Survivor

There is a survivor challenge going on right now on the AMR boards. This week it was a music challenge. I chose to do a page about my wedding song. This is a picture of the Hot Hubby and I dancing our first dance as a married couple. Our song was I Can Love You by Gary Allan. I printed the lyrics on a transparency and layered it on top of the photo. Our wedding colours were pink and brown, so I thought it was fitting to use those colours on the page.

There are some wonderful entries into this competition, so it if you have a second head over to the boards and vote for your favorite one. The voting isover now. I didn't mnake the second round, but I really enjoyed creating this page.

The lyrics to the song are:

I can’t stop your heart from breaking,
Can’t make right mistakes we’ve made,
Can’t dry your crying eyes,
For my little angels sake,
I can’t make the sun keep smiling,
Or blow away the clouds,
There’s some things in this old world girl,
I can’t do nothing bout,

But I can love you,
Like I’ve always done,
And when the hard times come a knocking,
Honey you won’t ever see me run,
I won’t leave you,When you need a friend,
Can’t make the bad days that much better,
Baby than they’ve ever been,
But I can love you,

Can’t hold back the ocean waves,
Or stop a sinking ship,
Can’t make a mountain move,
Or tell you how to live,

But I can love you,
Like I’ve always done,
And when the hard times come a knocking,
Honey you won’t ever see me run,
I won’t leave you,
When you need a friend,
Can’t make the bad days that much better,
Baby than they’ve ever been,

But I can love you,

And I won’t leave you,
When you need a friend,
Can’t make the bad days that much better,
Baby than they’ve ever been,

But I can love you,
But I can love you.

It is another nasty spring morning. The snow is falling and the roads are a mess. I hope spring will hurry up and get here!!

So This Is Spring!?!?!?

When I woke up this morning, this is what I saw out my window!!

It was crazy!! It was total white-out conditions at one point in time. Gotta love spring in Alberta ;) At least the snow has stopped now and it is starting to warm up. Thank goodness we didn’t take my winter tires off yet! And to think a local golf course opened up yesterday. I don’t think too many people will be teeing of today ;)

Things have been so busy lately I have hardly had anytime to scrapbook. There is an online crop tonight on the AMR boards. I am going to try and do a couple of the challenges, but I think the hot hubby and I are going out for dinner, so I will have to wait and see. I am itching to get some pages done so hopefully I can join in the fun a bit!

I hope to have some new pages to share soon!
Have a gooder!!
